Mildred was born to the late Robert L. and Elizabeth (Harley) Proctor on February 21, 1916 in Washington, DC. She met and married the late George H. Thompson and briefly made her home in New Haven, CT. Later she returned to live out her remaining years in the Washington, DC and Maryland area. From that union four sons were born. George (Tommy), twins Lloyd and Floyd, and David. She had a beautiful voice and acted in several plays. She also played the accordion. She was an active member of the Sodality at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
