LaBerta M. (Brooks) Freeborn, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at her home. She had been the loving wife of the late Eugene A. Freeborn for 57 years.

Born February 20, 1922 in Little Valley, NY to the late Truman and Eva (Strahl) Brooks, she had been a longtime Buffalo, NY resident before recently moving to Southington.

LaBerta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who centered her life around faith and family. She was a longtime active member of the Fair Havens Church community in N. Tonawanda, NY.

She is survived by her three children: Robert E. Freeborn and his wife Janet of Buffalo, NY; Annette F. Hahl and her husband John of Southington, with whom she made her home; and Joy E. Lembke and her husband David of Buffalo, NY; 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and her brother William Brooks of Salamanca, NY. She was predeceased by her sister Arlene O'Connor and two brothers, Douglas and Melvin Brooks.
