Mr. Wait was born in Roseville and moved to Shasta County in the 1930s.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a truck driver for Don Hawkey and Emmett Baugh trucking companies, and a member of the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge and the Teamsters union, all in Redding.
Survivors include wife Bessie; son Frank of Turlock; daughters Sandy Demeny of Chowchilla and Peggy Bostain of Cottonwood; stepson Tom Murray of Redding; stepdaughter Mary Ann Brown of Port Orchard, Wash.; brothers Jim of Stockton and Dick of Anderson; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
