BEVERLY WAKEFIELD OBITUARY
Graveside services for Beverly Hearn Wakefield, 79, of Bonham, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. John Lindsey will officiate. Beverly passed away Thursday morning, April 21, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Beverly was born February 15, 1937 I Roscoe (Nolan County), Texas, the daughter of Harrie A. Smith and Crystal Hearn Smith. She was a graduate of Midland High School and received her Masters degree in Education from the University of Texas in Austin. Beverly was an educator for 39 years, teaching in the Odessa ISD and Permian Basin College. A true Christian, beloved sister and aunt, she loved the theater and the music of Johnny Mathis. She traveled worldwide and loved the sea and all it had to offer. Beverly enjoyed cooking, especially lavish dishes and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. She delighted in winning at Bridge. Sweet memories she left behind are her fish tank, going to Prairie Dog Park, dress-up costumes, lemon drop candy, Galveston, Friday Night Lights, open face crab and avocado sandwiches and trips to Balmorhea. Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harrie A. Smith, Jr.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Dana Clifton of Bonham, Texas; Nephew, Cole Clifton and wife, Sabrina of Bonham; Niece, Crystal Wrape and husband, Scott of Bonham; grand nieces and nephews, Madison, Sarah, Nicole, Peyton, Holly, Chaezeney and Taylor; and great great niece, Emily.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
