STILL ALIVE IN 1790 WHEN HUSBAND WROTE HIS WILL.

Was still living when he died in 1794. Birth year isn't certain; she was born sometime between 1721 & 1725.

Wife of Johann Adam Bolch. Anna's maiden name is not 100% certain. Some call her Schwarzwald, but we have no definitive proof & Schwarzwald is the German name of the Black Forest mountain range, probably where she was from. With the exception of a birth & baptism record often attributed to her, the birth record for her son, Johann Adam Bolch, Jr. is the only record that has her maiden name as Schwarzwald. This is not enough to prove that was her maiden name.

Research done by the original creator of this memorial, Carolyn Whitaker, suggests that she was possibly a Hauck and so she listed Anna Christina as such. This would have made her a sister to Johan Peter Hauck (b. 13 Feb 1720) and the aunt of Anna Maria Hauck who married Jacob Frederick Mouser and, according to Carolyn, likely the reason there was so much intermarrying into these families. However, there's a problem with this theory.

Those previously listed as her parents, Hans Jacob Hauck & Margaretha Barbara Loch, came to America in 1747 with their daughter Anna Christina E. Hauck. And we know Anna Christina who married Johann Adam Bolch was still in Germany until 1753. And Hans & Barbara's daughter, Anna Christina Elisabeth, was baptized on 16 Feb 1728. If this Anna Christina was born in 1725 or before, she would have been baptized not long later—probably, at most, a few months later. It would be almost unheard of for a child to be baptized at 3 or more years old. So the idea that she was a Hauck & a daughter of Hans & Barbara is highly doubtful. And because of this, the maiden name Hauck & Hans & Barbara being her parents have been removed from her memorial.

**********************************

Anna Christina is the mother of 7 children; 5 sons & 2 daughters:

1. Jacob, the oldest - b. abt. 1751; married Maria Salome Greim/Grimes

2. Sebastian "Bostian" - b. abt. Sept 1753; married Maria Margaret Heffner/Hafner

3. Johann Adam, Jr. - b. 11 Jan 1755; married Christina Huffman & Catherine Huffman

4. Johann Casper - b. 26 Dec 1756; married Maria Magdalena Deal/Diehl

5. Gottfried "Godfrey" - b. abt. 1759; married Christine [maiden name unknown] & the widow of Joseph Hartle, Catherine Eckard

6. Christina - b. abt. 1761; married Frederick Treffenstatt

7. Elizabeth - b. abt. 1762; had an out of wedlock child with John Baxter about 1785, then she married Jacob Garling. There are some who claim she married Johann George Bowman or Johann Daniel Bowman, but deeds have been found where she & her husband, Jacob Garling, are selling off her father's land she received in his will, showing positive proof she married Jacob Garling. She was still alive on 7 May 1823.
