Mrs. Beresford H. Scott, well-known resident of Grimsby Beach, died suddenly on Friday at her home in her 67th year.

The former Alice Jean Sutherland, she was born in Ottawa, a daughter of the late Edward and Kate Sutherland, and lived in that city until moving to Grimsby Beach 16 years ago.

A life member of the I.O.D.E. and the Red Cross, Mrs. Scott took an active part in the work of the West Lincoln Hospital Guild and the women's organizations of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Grimsby.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Major Edward D. Scott, of Trail, B.C.; a daughter, Mrs. M.R. Harris, of Halifax, N.S.; and two brothers, Brigadier R.D. Sutherland, of Toronto, and E.N. Sutherland, of Westminster, B.C.

Funeral services were conducted in St. Andrew's Church by Rev. E.A. Brooks on Monday afternoon. Interment was made in St. James' Cemetery, Toronto.
