Kyke was not afraid to work and worked many different factory and construction jobs around the Algona area. For many years he worked more than one at a time.
On September 14, 1985, Kyke was united in marriage to Rosanna Smith at Call State Park in Algona, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in Algona. For the past 20 years Kyke has worked at The Chantland Company in Humboldt, Iowa, and retired on July 11, 2014.
Kyke's family was very important to him and he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with them. He also enjoyed antiques and collectibles, restoring his home with Rosanna before her death, sports, playing golf, pool and fishing with his friends.
Kyke died on Monday, April 18, 2016, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident near Algona. He was 65.
He is survived by his children, Cara and Keith Butler of Concord, CA; Jason and Laura St. John of Columbus, GA; Clint and Tasha Ludwig of Algona; grandchildren, Ethan Butler, Brody Butler, Taylor St. John, Ashley Reding, Tehya Ludwig, Ella Ludwig. Also surviving are sisters, Sandra Wiskus of Madrid; Joyce and Bobby Petersen of Algona and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosanna on January 13, 2014; and brother-in-law, LuVerne Wiskus.
