Ruth Eulene Curtis was born January 20, 1919 in Chandler to Elmer Earl Ohmert and Emmar Mae (Ramsey). She passed away April 14, 2016 in Chandler at the age of 97.

Ruth was a strong Christian woman since she was 13 and long-time member of the Assembly of God Church in Chandler. She was always home when her children returned from school. After raising her children she continued to help raise her grandchildren and many of their friends. Ruth was a wonderful cook who was well-known for her home made noodles and popcorn balls which were a favorite for Halloween. She enjoyed mowing on her riding lawnmower and working in her yard where she was very particular. Ruth was a talented seamstress often creating dresses and other outfits for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Branson where she camped, fished and enjoyed the shows.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Emmar; husband of 53 years, Elton Curtis; sister, Jewell Massie; granddaughter, Shelly Wayland; and great-grandson, Anthony Cruz.

Survivors include her children, Bob Curtis and his wife Patricia Gregory of Stonewall, Helen Janes of Wellston, Phyllis Hager of Moore, Donna and her husband John Wayland of Chandler, Richard Curtis and his wife Betty of Newalla; (12) grandchildren; (24) great-grandchildren; (5) great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Service ~ Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Assembly of God in Chandler with interment in the Oak Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
