Robert A. Schlosser, age 80, of The Villages, FL went home to be with the Father on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The son of Frank and Phyllis Schlosser, he was born on December 26, 1935 in Saegertown, Pennsylvania. He lived in Saegertown until his early twenties, when he relocated to Ashtabula, Ohio upon his marriage to Victoria (Holzapfel), his bride of 59 years. Together they raised their four children, Julie (Richard) Hunt, Bruce (Elizabeth) Schlosser, Pamela (Larry) Palermo and Jessica (David) Peranteau. A retired engineer from Millennium Inorganic Chemicals after more than 30 years of service, Bob and Vicki relocated to The Villages in Florida in 2001 and, together, enjoyed their golden years. Bob was an outdoors-man, hunting in his earlier years, and tended his vegetable and flower gardens throughout his life with joyful, meticulous care. He was a lover of nature and animals, and always found beauty in God’s creation. He was true to Cleveland sports, a life-long fan of the Browns and Indians, and enjoyed years as an accomplished bowler and golfer. He was a tireless provider; at his center was family and his faith. Quiet and unassuming, he was a pillar of strength who put his loved ones first. As a dear friend expressed, Bob was someone who brought a smile to your face without even trying. His wit and boyish smile was a combination that always kept others guessing what he was up to. Those whose lives were touched by Bob were richer of heart because of the love and kindness that came from within Bob’s own heart.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria, and four children; his grandchildren Jane (Christopher) Walker; Victoria Hunt; Zachary, Owen and Gabriel Schlosser and Noah Peranteau, and great-grandchildren Chloe, Robert and Ethan Walker.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake, Florida. Friends and family will be received for calling hours from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Lake Presbyterian Church Homebound Ministries, Lady Lake, FL.
