"Kenneth G. Bachmann, age 87, of Fremont died early Saturday morning (April 16th) in Nye Legacy, Fremont.

He was born to Carl and Mabel (Logeman) Bachmann on July 4, 1928 in Stanton County near Creston, NE. He attended high school in Creston.

On Febr. 20, 1947, Ken was married to Delores Ann Brauner. Ken farmed near Creston until moving to Fremont in the early 1950's. Here he ran a feed store until joining the Fremont Fire Dept. where he was not only a firefighter, but worked on the rescue squad. During his time with the fire department, he is credited with saving at least one life and was involved with several other critical incidents including the fire that destroyed the Fremont Molasses Feed Company building. Ken later went to work for Magnus Metal in Fremont. While working there, he started a painting business which he continued for a number of years after retiring from Magnus Metal.

Ken was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where he was involved in the activities and committees. He was also a member of AA.

son - Rick (and wife Dalea) Bachmann of Paradise, Utah
6 grandchilden – Jamie, Jessie, Trisha, Jake, Joel, and Brent
13 great grandchildren – Halie, Shay, Dakota, Cooper, Ren, Madison, Jaxson, Krew,
Korbin, Kaylie, Samiya, Sidney, and Addie
long time special friend – Alberta Sick of Fremont
2 brothers – Lyle (and wife Betty) Bachmann of Fremont
Marvin (and wife Marilyn) Bachmann of Norfolk
sister – Marlene German of Davenport, Iowa
many nieces and nephews

Ken was preceded by his wife Dolores, his parents Carl and Mabel, sisters Sylvia Boggy and Marjorie Osten, and brother Dale Bachmann.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (Apr. 19, 2016) at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Thomas. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to his church. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be on Tuesday, 3 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM."
