In April 1870, John took on an indenture of Richard E Robbins, "to learn the art and trade of farmer in the manner of apprentice, to dwell and serve from the day of the ensealing hereof until October 11, 1882, when the said Richard E Robbins will arrive at the age of 21 years."
John's death date is taken from his election to Collector of Taxes in March 1873 & his replacement chosen in April of 1873 due to his death.
