Boyd Cole, 56, of Pilgrims Knob, died in the Richlands hospital on Thursday morning following a long illness. Born at Pilgrims knob, VA, he was the son of the late Wadie Viers and M. J. Cole. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Grundy Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nora May Ward Cole; two sons, Harless J. Cole serving with the U. S. Air Force in Panama, and Franklin D. Cole serving witht he U. S. Army in Mount Crawford, VA; two daughters, Miss Virginia May Cole of Alexandria, and Mrs. Anne Hill of Alexandria; and five grand-children.

Funeral services were conducted at the Ward Memorial Bible Church with Rev. Byron Dye and Rev. Lawrence Boardwine officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Creek Cemetery at Pilgrims Knob. the Masonic Lodge was in charge of the graveside service.
