Memorial service for Edwin D. Phillips, 76, of Opelika, Alabama is 5:00 p.m.Friday, April 17, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church of Opelika. Mr. Phillips passed away at Arbor Springs on April 11, 2015. He was born April 7, 1939 in Jefferson County, Alabama. He had been a long time resident of Opelika where he was president of Heritage Oil Co., Inc., in Opelika until his retirement in 1992. He had been a member and officer of the Opelika Exchange Club and the Auburn Opelika Elks Lodge and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also Uniion Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Delores P. Phillips and his parents, Edwin F. and Marjorie C. Phillips. He is survived by his daughter Donna R. Phillips of Opelika, sons, Donnie (Charlotte) Phillips, Guy Phillips both of Clanton, Alabama, grandchild, Duncan (Morgan) Phillips of Opelika; a brother Richard Phillips of Opelika. The family is accepting flowers or a donation may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of Amnerica.
