Floyd ‘Ed’ Miller, age 79, of Boone, died April 11, 2016, at his home.

Private family services will be Friday afternoon, April 15, 2016, at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall with Pastor Bruce Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation hours. Burial of his cremains and the cremains of his wife Cheryl, who died December 16, 2015, will be in the Bass Point Cemetery at a later date.

Floyd Edward Miller, was born in Ogden, Iowa, on December 16, 1937, the son of William and Ruth (Dailey) Miller.

On July 10, 1964, Ed married Cheryl Jo Gilliam at the Mineral Ridge Baptist Church in Ridgeport, Iowa.

Self-employed, Ed ran a lawn and snow business and also a bait shop out of his home.

Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, vegetable and flower gardening, and spending time with his family. He and Cheryl enjoyed feeding the deer in the upper level of the Ledges.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Rodney Miller, three brothers, Virgil, LaVerne, and Laurence ‘Bud’ Miller, and three sisters, Vera Condon, Nancy Miller, and Janice Shadle.

Ed is survived by a son Kenneth Miller and wife Teresa of Boone; five grandchildren, Jennifer Faulk, Elisabeth (Brandon) Hammer, Felicia Twiselton (Brandon Espinoza), Rebecca Twiselton, and Zack (Sarah) Miller; four great grandchildren, Marrah and Macie Zentner, and Brayden and Brooklyn Hammer; six brothers, Ray Miller, Lloyd Miller and wife Sally, Paul Miller and wife Pat, all of Boone, Lauren Miller and wife Barb of Ankeny, Jack Miller and wife Fran of Luther, and Bernard and wife Sharon of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters Joyce Kirk and husband Larry of Ames, and Rose Quigley of Boone; a brother-in-law, Vern Condon of Boone; and a sister-in-law Betty Miller of Boone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
