A memorial service for Dr. Marshall H. Buchman, M.D., 91, New Albany, will be at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, May 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2796 Charlestown Road, New Albany. He passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

He was a native of Ft. Wayne. He was retired from his private Medical Practice after serving many years. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He also received a Master of Education Degree from Purdue University. Before graduating from Medical School he taught in the New Albany-Floyd County School System. He was a member of the Floyd County Medical Society, Indiana State Medical Society, was a former Chief of the Medical Staff of Floyd Memorial Hospital, and staff member of the old Silvercrest Children's Development Hospital. He served on the board of the Floyd County Health Department for more than 34 years. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Joseph Geddes Buchman, PHD. (Cindy), Alpine , Utah; daughter, Robin Wright, Jeffersonville; four grandchildren, Dr. Kelsey Buchman Koenig, MD (Jon), Waukesha, Wis., Hayley Buchman, San Francisco, Calif., Kristian Buchman, Salt Lake City, Utah and Anna Buchman, Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred Geddes Buchman, RN and his parents, Ross Alfred and Dessie Virginia Harding Buchman.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, 1119 East Market Street, New Albany. Private entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Marshall H. Buchman, M.D. Memorial Fund, Floyd Memorial Foundation, in recognition of Dr. Buchman's service to his patients and his tenure with Floyd Memorial Hospital.
