Born Aug. 5, 1922, in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Furmon R. and Bernice Lackey Lehmons.
A member of First United Methodist Church, he was employed by Burlington Mills for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Simpson Lehmons; and a brother, Blake Lehmons.
Survivors include a son, Richard "Dick" Lehmons of Mountain View; a sister, Evaleene Fowler of Newton; and three grandchildren, Brett R. Lehmons, Alex C. Lehmons and Courtney E. Lehmons.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at his church. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
