She grew up in the Crescent and Enid area before moving to Kansas with her family when she was a teenager. On July 25, 1944 she married Elmer Junior Knoll at Iola, Kansas; this union was blessed with a son, Gary and a daughter, Connie. They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri where Florence worked in a bank. They later moved to Overland Park where Florence was able to stay home with their children. In 1970 they moved to the "farm" near Gardner where they lived until moving into Gardner in 1988. They made their home in Wellsville and Colony eventually settling in Colony where she spent the last 12 years. Florence attended the Colony Christian Church. She was a member of the Docey-Dandies Square Dance Club, Gardner, Kansas for almost 20 years. Florence is remembered for her cooking, baking canning and sewing.
