Son of Franklin Ryder and Ellen Dailey Ryder.

Brother of Frank, William, Rosann, Charles, Thomas J., and Mary Ellen Ryder.

Husband of Rose Zacherl, married January 21, 1890 in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.

Father of Thomas Franklin, Cornelia Marie, George William, and Rose Ellen Ryder.

From his birth in 1863 he lived on his Father's farm in Eden. From 1890-1891 he was employed as a Fireman on the C. & N. W. Railway. From 1900 till 1912 he was working as an Undertaker in Fond du Lac City, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, most likely for his new Wife's parents who ran Zacherl Funeral Home. From 1913 till 1934 he was working as an Embalmer for the H. J. Gallagher Undertaking Co. and also Halsted & Co. of San Francisco City, California. After 1934 we are unsure of which company he was working for, we do know he did keep working as an Embalmer and Undertaker till his death in 1938. His Grand daughter June had many stories of growing up living with her Grandparents who lived on the second floor, upstairs. Above the Mortuary and how she could hear the corpses gasping at night when they let off gases. She told some real good Halloween tales to her children and grandchildren.
