OBITUARY:

William Prosser was born in Bloomsburg, Penn. June 6, 1835 and departed this life on April 28, 1915, In Minneapolis, Kansas He was 80 years, 3 months and 22 days of age.

He enlisted twice as a soldier in the Civil War. First on Dec. 7, 1861 in Co. D. 84th Penn. Volunteers. He served here until his time expired, ranking as Corporal. He then enlisted in Co. G. 57th Penn. Volunteers, where he served as Sergeant until he was honorably discharged on July 6,1865.
He suffered imprisonment, three times, at Libby, Bellisle, and at Salisbury, N.C.

On Aug 30, 1872, he was married to Martha Smith, in Fayetteville, Johnson Co., MO. To this union were born five sons and four daughters, three of the later having preceded him in death, in infancy.

The surviving children are: W.T.JR., Mary E., (who is Mrs. W.F. Powell), Edward A., H.L., A.H., and E.J.
These with their mother, and with, Mr. Llewellyn Prosser, of Ashland, PA.,and Mr. H.E. Prosser of Quincy, IL. Who are brothers of the deceased, with six grand-children and unnumbered friends are mourning his departure.

Mr. PROSSER was of the Old Puritan type; sturdy and clean in habit. He knew God and would rather loose his right hand than disobey Him.
He called his children about him before he left and asked them to meet him in Heaven. He strove to live the perfect life.

He has long been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, never faltering in the support.

The funeral services were held in his church, Friday morning by the pastor, L.E. Cooke. The music was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. J. T.Silver. Mrs.C. Gage, and Mrs. C. Gage, and Mrs. W. M. Truth, Miss Ethel Hughes was the pianist.

Interment was made in the Delphos Cemetery.

The G.A.R., and the M. E. Gospel team attended the funeral in their respective bodies. Mr. PROSSER was an honored and valuable member of each.

The funeral text was taken from a wall motto; which hung over his bed. It was from Rom. 6:23, "The Gift of God is Eternal Life. " this was the unwavering trust of Mr. PROSSER, and now he has gone into the blessed heritage of eternal life with God.
