He attended the Shattuck School System and graduated with the class of 1955.
He attended the University of Oklahoma before joining the United States Marine Corp. He was attached to the Department of Pacific Marine Band stationed on Treasure Island in San Francisco.
Larry graduated from Gradwohl Laboratory School and did clinical lab work for four years. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Pharmacy. He accepted a position at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
He was married to Betty Trevail in 1962. They lived in several states including New Mexico, Kansas and Missouri while they finished their education.
Before coming to Alva, Larry worked at Pharmerica which serviced 90 nursing homes in Kansas and Missouri. H also worked at the hospital in Hays, Kansas. In 2002 Larry married Alycen Ridgway. Their immediate family includes two cats, Patrick and Katy. Larry was employed by Holder Drug and Kiowa’s Prescription Plus. He enjoyed assisting in the farm work of his wife’s family.
Larry was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Alva. He was a member of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association and held licenses from t he states of Kansas and Missouri. He was also an active member of the Alva Community Theater.
Mr.Yoder was preceded in death by his father, Homer, and a sister, Mary Ethel Haddock.
Larry is survived by his wife, Alycen, of the home, his mother, Edna Yoder, of Bellingham, Washington; a brother-in-law, Barry Haddock and his wife, Lois, of Ferndale, Washington; three sisters-in-law: Lucy and Delbert Rhodes, Ruth Ann Gatz and Debbie and Robert Simmons; three step-children and their spouses: Max Alan and April Ridgway, Marsha and Glen McMillin, Mike and Brenda Ridgway; nine step-grandchildren: Josh, Molly, Lindsay and her husband Paul, Tanner, Elliott, Anton, Philip, Alexander and Elizabeth.
Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to The Share Medical Center or The Methodist Church renovation project.
