Mrs. Clara Fox died at her home in Cedar Rapids last Saturday evening, after a lingering illness. She had been low for some time with the incurable disease, cancer, and her death was not unexpected.

The deceased, whose maiden name was Clara Lawrence, was born in Illinois, March 15, 1842. When seven years of age she moved with her parents to Delaware county, Iowa. In 1864 she was married to Barney Fox and they moved to Nebraska in 1869 and settled at Ashland.

In 1903 Mrs. Fox moved to Cedar Rapids, where she lived up to the time of her death. She was a member of the Christian church, having joined that church at the age of twenty years.

She was the mother of nine children eight of whom are living. Four of her children were present to minister to her in her last illness, namely: Ednah Mrs. Sherman Boring, of Omaha, Martin Fox of Ashland, and Samuel Fox of Belgrade.
