A second daughter, Sherri Lee, was born on Sunday, April 13, 1947. Both daughters were born in Erie.
Jimmy Elmer owned and operated a neon sign business, Aztec Neon, in El Cajon, CA, which he purchased from his wife's brother, Harold Schauer. A Sunday, October 10, 1965, article on page 150, quotes Jimmy Elmer, "Glass jobs are growing fewer and fewer." The headline reads, Glass Bender's Art Losing Out in Age of Plastics." On Tuesday, February 11, 1975, a fire caused major damage to a house owned by Jimmy Elmer at 703 Graves Avenue in El Cajon, CA. Two pumpers and ladder truck were dispatched. Two firemen were treated for minor burns to the wrist and face at El Cajon Valley Hospital and released.
Jimmy passed away at the age of sixty-four on Sunday, November 17, 1985.
