Born in Freedom Township, he was the son of the late Hugh and Anna (Cluck) Adelsberger.
Mr. Adelsberger was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arendtsville. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army in the Black Hawk Division. He had worked for 43 years with McDermitt Concrete Company in Gettysburg. Also, he was a member of VFW Post #15 in Gettysburg.
He was the husband of Betty J. (Plank) Adelsberger, who departed this life in 1999, and surviving are six daughters, Mary Irene Kessler of Cashtown, Carlene Marie Collier of Hanover, Martha Ann DiSarro of Reading, Donna Jean Andrew of Gettysburg, Doris Jane Kane of McKnightstown and Melinda Lee Jaworskyj of Gettysburg; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Norman Adelserger of Fairfield.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Earl Adelsberger.
