Zack Postlethwaite Dead

Z. T. Postlethwalte died at his home on West 4th street, early Tuesday morning. He had not been well all winter but had only been seriously sick a few days. ZacK came with his folks from Kentucky in 1871 and located on a farm southwest of Cbaoute. A few years ago the family moved from the farm and located in Chaaute. Zack never married but always lived at home and cared for his aged parents in their declining years. He was a man of culture and refinement and well liked by everybody. He and his brother Lon had made arrangements to go into business at San Antonio, Texas. Lon had already gone and Zack was fixing to get away when he was taken sick. If ever a man was devoted to his parents it was Zack Postlethwaite. He nursed his father through his long and fatal illness and has been the constant companion of his aged and feeble mother for many years. He has won the admiration of all by his devotion to his mother in her hour of need. Funeral services were held in the Christian church conducted by Elder Kitchen Wednesday afternoon and the body laid away in Elmwood. His brother Lon reached here after Zack's death. The Masons conducted the funeral. He was a faithful member of the order.
