Mary Lou (Flanery) Neal, 63, of Maxwell died June 25, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born July 20, 1936 in Waynesburg, Ky., she was the daughter of Roach Oliver Flanery and Maude L. Griffin. She graduated from Highland Memorial High School in Waynesburg, Ky. She retired from Kroger, where she was employed from 1978-98. She worked several years at Hancock Memorial Hospital. She was a charter member of the the Moose Lodge and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, John E. Neal; sons Coolie and John Wells of Greenfield; stepson Russell C. Neal of New Palestine, Randy C. Neal of Illinois, and Ronnie C. Neal and Roger C. Neal of Indianapolis; daughter Judy Briles of Greenfield; stepdaughter Robin C. Neal of Florida; brothers James Roach Jr. and Clarence Flanery of Beech Grove and Howard Flanery of Kentucky; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Women of the Moose will hold services this evening with the Rev. David Deem officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Pasco Memorial Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the I.U. School of Medicine.
