GROVER : Mrs. Zalia "Zip" Sheppard Hardin, 99, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.

She was a native of Cleveland County, and daughter of the late Alex and Maggie Randall Sheppard. She was wife of the late Melvin C. Hardin.

She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in Grover. She was former lunch room manager of Grover High School and correspondent for the Cleveland Times for 30 years. She was also employed with Barium Springs Children's Home.

A graveside service will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Blacksburg, S.C.
