Hazel L. Cable, age 93, formerly of Butler, TN, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a lengthy illness. A native of Butler, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Liza Gregg Watson. Mrs. Cable was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a very devoted Christian who was loved by everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie J. Cable in 1985, one sister and four brothers. Mrs. Cable is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Cable will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Butler with Rev. Doug Ranshaw and Rev. Ray Greene officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joel Norris and Raydon Markland. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the church prior to the service. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for their exceptional loving and devoted care of Hazel during her illness.
