Dorothy Artlip, 90, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Provena McAuley Manor. She was born February 19, 1916 in Aurora.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Batavia, IL. She graduated from Annunciation grade school. Dorothy also graduated from Madonna High School in 1934. In 1938, she graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing.
On August 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edward P. Artlip at St. Michael Church in Galena, IL.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening and fishing. She especially looked forward to going north to Round Lake to fish with her husband, Ed, who passed away in 1996. Dorothy was always ready to help someone in need. She was employed by St. Joseph Hospital in Aurora, Mercyville and was Dr. Balthazar's RN in his private practice.
Survivors include her many nieces and nephews as well as grand and great grandnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents Thomas and Theresa (Petschauer) Blassage; her three sisters, Josephine, Marie, Minnie; six brothers, Thomas, John, Frank, August, Albert, Bernard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 9, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Provena McAuley Manor 400 West Sullivan Road, Aurora. In State Visitation will be held from 12:15 PM until the funeral hour.
Fr. David Palmatier, O.S.B. will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
