Suggested edit: Quenemo--Leroy W. Brecheisen, 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his home near Quenemo. He was born on February 7, 1939 on the family farm east of Lyndon, the son of Leonard and Doris Adkinson Brecheisen.

Leroy had lived most of his life around the Quenemo community.

He attended the No. 9 School in Franklin County for 1st grade, then attended the Quenemo Schools where he graduated in 1957. He worked for Goodyear Tire Company in Topeka for over 12 years, then worked for the Overbrook CO-OP until 1975 when he took over Brecheisen Fencing, where he worked until his retirement. He had been a member of the Ottawa Eagles and had been baptized in the Vassar Methodist Church.

On December 2, 1961 Leroy was married to Viola Tatman in Quenemo.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Doris; and by one brother, Fred Brecheisen.

Leroy is survived by his wife Viola of 54 years; his two sons, David Brecheisen and wife Mel of Lyndon and Robert Brecheisen and companion Deadra Smith of Ottawa; his brother, Jim Brecheisen of Westminster, Colorado; his sister, Linda Crettol of Osage City; and three grandsons, Gaige, Beau and Jace Brecheisen.

Funeral services for Leroy will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 2 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Quenemo. Memorial contributions may be made to the Quenemo Community Center or Grace Hospice, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS. 66451.
