Loretta Bobrowski-Block passed away quietly surrounded by her family on March 31, 2016, at Brookdale North Assisted Living Center in Kenosha, Wis. Loretta was born on June 3, 1922, in Sand Rock (Hurley), Wis.

Loretta was the youngest of ten children raised by her mother on a farm. After graduating at age 17, she moved to her sister in Philadelphia to find work. They then moved to Chicago where she waitressed and then did office work. A girlfriend asked if she would write to the troops in WWII. She got a response from a Navy sailor stationed in the Pacific. They continued correspondence till his discharge and then she finally met Bill Bobrowski. They married in 1946 and settled in North Chicago. Two children later they began a grocery business. However they divorced in 1971. By that time Loretta was working as a medical transcriptionist at the Naval Hospital in Great Lakes. She then met and married Albert Block; they were married five years until his death in 1986. Loretta retired from the naval hospital in 1988. Shes also survived by a stepson, Albert Block and a "special son" Ted (Sherrie Love) Corelewski, and several nieces and nephews all over the 48 states.

Per Loretta's wishes, her ashes will be sent Up North to be near her maternal family and there will not be any formal services. Also, any donations can be made to Hospice Alliance of Kenosha 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI. 53158 or Alzheimer's Association PO Box 96011, Washington DC 20090.
