Ophelia was born in Mangham, Louisiana.

On August 9, 1941, she married David Oscar Davis of Texas. After the death of her husband in 1965, Ophelia moved to California to be with her mother Jennie.

Ophelia's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hinds Hospice for all their assistance and support.

Ophelia is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie; her husband David; her brother Calvin; her sisters, Alma, Lola, and Ellen; and her grandson Justin.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Purcell and Wanda Tortensen both of Prairieville LA; two sons-in-law; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Vernon; sister Estelle; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.

A Graveside Service follows.
