Widow of Minister at Roscoe, 81, Dies


Roscoe, March 11 - Mrs. G. W. Parks, 81, widow of a Roscoe Baptist minister, died early Thursday in Corpus Christi, where she lived the past year.


Funeral services will be conducted here Saturday in the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery.


Mrs. Parks was born in Arkansas. She had lived in Cisco, Scranton and Abilene before coming here. She was the mother of George Parks, editor of The Roscoe Times.


Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. A. I. Skiles and Mrs. L. B. Dawson of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Ora Parker of Kingsville and Mrs. G. H. Griffith of Atlanta, Ga.; another son, Hermon Parks of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. W. W. Early of Snyder; a brother, Matt Cain of Manhattan, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
