William A. Harrison, a native of Jackson county who had resided in the West for many years, died at his home at Mullinville, Kansas, on Wednesday, Auguts 13, (1941) after a long illness, according to word received by relatives here. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 15.

Miss Maude Harrison, who with Mrs. Minnie Crites, were sisters of the deceased, had gone west to visit her brother who had suffered for several years from heart trouble. Death occured only a week after her arrival at his bed-side.

Mr. Harrison was born near Ripley on February 16, 1975, a son of Josiah and Angeline Harrison.

At the time of his death he was aged 66 years, 5 months and 27 days.

After growing to manhood in this county, he went to Arkansas, where on May 4, 1909, he was united in marriage to Linnie Huckaby.

They later moved to Iowa where Mr. Harrison served as postmaster at Rowley for five years before moving to Kansas in 1920. For the past 14 years he had been in the employ of the board of education at Mullinville. A member of the United Brethren church, Mr. Harrison was also a member of the I.O.O.F. of Mullinville for the past 25 years, and was a well known and respected citizen of that place.

Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Harley Harrison, of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Isalone Ricketts, of Goddard and Dorothy Harrison, at home; and seven grandchildren. Another son, Clinton Alfred, died in infancy. He is also survived by three brothers, George Harrison, of Parkersburg, James Harrison, of Sissonville, and Fred Harrison of Lynchburg, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Crites and Miss Maude Harrison of Ripley, W.
