She was born to Archer and Mable (Rae) Bliss December 4, 1907 in Toledo, Ohio. On Nov. 15, 1934, in South Bend, she married Riley Clare Nowels, who died April 22, 1978. She was a member of Rome City United Methodist Church and Wolcottville American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are 2 daughters; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
