MRS BENJ. LEAF TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Benjamin Leaf, 70, well known local Spiritualist medium, and a native of Hancock County, died at one o'clock Sunday afternoon at her residence, 427 Carnahan avenue, following a years illness from heart trouble. She had been seriously ill the last three weeks.

The daughter of Jonathan and Alice (Routzon) Williamson, she was born in Eagle township on July 4, 1858 and had resided in this county all of her life. She was married on October 8, 1882 to Benjamin Leaf, who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Jay Leo, 424 Carnahan avenue. Five grandchildren are also living.

A brother, John W. Williamson, lives at Clear Water, Florida.

Mrs. Leaf was a Spiritualist medium for the last 20 years. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters, having been the Past Chief.

Funeral services will be private and will be conducted from the resident. The time has not yet been decided.

The body was taken to the Renshler mortuary and will be removed to the residence today.
