Antioch,Aug 17.- Last rites were observed this morning at the Preston chapel for Mrs. Ida Herring, 78, who died here Wednesday following a long illness. Rev. W.S.Kelly, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiated, and internment followed in the Masonic and Odd Fellow Cemetery.
A resident of California for more than 40 years, Mrs. Herring had made her home in Antioch for the past 27 years. She was a native of Iowa. Surviving is a son, Frank Herring, also of Antioch. (Oakland Tribune, Oakland, CA, August 17, 1934)

Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, established in 1858, was the original name of Oak View Memorial Park. Name was changed to Antioch Cemetery from 1920-1950. Name change to Oak View occurred in 1960.
