Juanita C. Anaya, 86, a member of a pioneer New Mexico family passed away in her sleep on January 16th.

She was born in Tajique, New Mexico.

Juanita was a caring loving mother who put her children and family before her own needs. She watched her family grow and prosper, Abel, her husband, always at her side. Mom, Thank You. We Love You.

Mrs. Anaya is survived by her daughters, Beatrice Varela and her husband, Eddie, Lita Cruz, Judy Griffin and her husband, David, Vicki Walker all of Albuquerque; sons, Laco Anaya and his wife, Priscilla, Benny Anaya and his wife, Emily, Abel Anaya and his wife, Alice all of Albuquerque, Sam Anaya and his wife, Carol of Los Lunas, Carmel Anaya and his wife, Carmela, and Nario Anaya and his wife, Rosalie all of Albuquerque; sister, Emilia Barela of Estancia, and 20 grandchildren.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Abel Anaya in 1998, son Danny Anaya, grandson Laco Anaya Jr. and son-in-law Johnny Cruz.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia.

Interment will follow at the Estancia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Varela, Arthur Varela, James Anaya, Danny Anaya, David Cruz and Thomas Anaya.

Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Care Center, 2211 Main St. in Los Lunas 865-1386.
