Florence was born in Winooski on January 12, 1921, daughter of Harry and Helen (L'Ecuyer) Chicoine.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Martell of Burlington. They were married Nov. 4, 1939. She is also survived by her three children, Richard R. and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Colchester, Donna of Burlington, and Timothy L. of Craftsbury; two brothers and their wives, Paul and Marie Chicoine of Naples, Fla., and Robert and Lucille Chicoine of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Lula Guest and Ruth Lamere both of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Chris, Kim, Jeffrey, J.J., Meghan, Dustin, Tim and Autumn; four great grandchildren, Amber, Devin, Conner and Courtney.
Florence worked at Bell Helicopter, General Electric, and then owned and operated Neighborhood Grocery in Colchester and Bob's Mini Mart in Grand Isle.
Some of her favorite pastimes were painting, ceramics, reading, flowers, crafts, baking and playing cards. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church with committal to follow in Grand Isle Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N. Winsooki Ave., today from 5 to 8 p.m.
