Byron B. Boyles, age 91, a resident of Tacy Community Moatsville, passed away Thursday February 11, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1924 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Denver and Gladys (Poling) Boyles. He was united to his wife of 70 years Loretta B. (Ridenour) Boyles who survives at home. Also surviving are three children

Two sisters; Doris Green and husband Delaine of Philippi
Mary Louise Humphreys of Mansfield Place
Five grandchildren; Richie Freeman, Adam Freeman, Dawn Jacques, Byron Boyles, Brandy Sifers
Eight great grandchildren
Byron was preceded in death by two brothers; Jack and Austin Boyles, infant grandson Rodney Freeman.

Byron retired from Mon Power with 40 years of service as Lead lineman, he served in the US Marines from 1943-1946 during WWII and was in the first Marine Division. Byron loved the outdoors; he enjoyed farm and raising cattle on his farm, and was an avid hunter. He was a member of the Barbour County Senior Center and the Crossroads United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday February 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday February 15, from 8 am- 2 pm with Rev. Gilbert Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy with military honors being accorded.
