Rosalie (Rose) Hermaine Schmidt Hardin, age 87, died March 28, 2016. Rose was born on December 15, 1928 to Herman and Rosa Schmidt in Taylor, TX. She had been married to Ozzie Hardin for over 30 years from Rantoul, Illinois. Rose was active in her church serving St. Martin’s Lutheran in many capacities.

She was an active Lutheran layperson working for many years with the youth of the church and served on district and national boards. In addition, she was a former church council member and served in the Stephens Ministry program. Rose also enjoyed managing her rental properties for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Rose is survived by her three children: daughter, Sandy Snow of Hurst, TX, son, Mike Hardin of Austin, TX, and daughter, Barbara Hardin of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her two sisters, Nathalie Engeling of Elgin, TX and Shirley Halstead of Houston, TX, and many cherished and loved nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Funeral Services, Friday, April 1, 2016, 11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m., St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 606 W 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701.

Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Taylor City Cemetery, 1101 E. 4th Street, Taylor, TX 76574

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Martin’s Lutheran Church.
