Weldon attended Little Elm and Frisco Public Schools and was a Koren War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He married Brenda Hayes in Frisco on May 13, 1965. He worked for Little Elm Public Schools and was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church and The American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; a daughter, Laura Ellis; son, Johnny Chumbley; sisters, Margie Ward and Charlotte McCauley; and brother, Kenneth Chumbley.
He is survived by his wife; sons; and daughters. He had eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Little Elm.
