Born March 29, 1923 in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Bessie Mae (Kieffer) Grainger.
Robert attended Reading High School.
He was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.
Robert was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Pottstown.
He was employed over 20 years with Boyertown Casket Company and another 12 years as a machinist with Flagg Foundry, Pottstown.
Robert was last employed with Freed's Grocery Store, Gilbertsville, before retiring in 2013.
He is survived by a son-in-law, Paul T. Sullivan; and a granddaughter, Kara Lynn Sullivan, both of Lower Alsace Township.
Robert was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Lynn (Grainger) Sullivan (1958-2014); and by a sister, Bernice (Grainger) Walls.
Services will be held Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Reformed UCC, 60 North Hanover Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the Church. Burial will be private in Spies-Zion Cemetery.
