Tom was born September 18, 1937 in Niles the son of the late Emil and Mary (Pletcher) Ott. He served in the US Marines. On February 18, 1961 he married the former Della "Peggy" Marrow. Tom was a Corrosion Engineer for the El Paso Pipeline (ANR) in Bridgman, Hamilton and Detroit for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Baroda American Legion Post 345 and the Masonic Temple in Belleville, Michigan.

his wife of 46 years, Peggy; two daughters – Kelley (Robert) Kostin of Clarkston, Michigan and Shelley Hunter of England; four grandchildren – Claire Hunter, Emily Hunter, Kelley Hunter, and Shay Kostin; a brother, Michael (Bonnie) Ott of Battle Creek; two sisters – Tam (Max) Nitz and Mary (Ron) Nitz all of Baroda; and many nieces and nephews.
