VICAR OF ST MARY THE VIRGIN, ASTLEY FOR 39 YEARS
*****************************************************

Son of Captain Ralph Cromwell Gregg (1847 - 1929) and Frances Molina Warde (1844 - 1902)
His father, who was born in Ireland, was a Captain in the 9th Hussars.

Baptized on the 28th September 1876 at St Mark's, Reigate, Surrey.

Rev. Carr-Gregg was privately educated. He obtained his B.A. in 1905 and his M.A. in 1910. He was ordained a Deacon in York in 1910, and was also Curate of St Mary's, Wheatley, Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

He became Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, Astley, Warwickshire, in 1917.

Rev. Carr-Gregg married Margaret Evelyn Upton on the 11th July 1917 at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton, London.

The Reverend's wife Margaret, was the daughter of Henry Edward Montague Dorington Clotworthy Upton, 4th Viscount Templeton, a Peer of the Irish Realm.

I don't think there were any children from this marriage.

Rev. Carr-Gregg died at the George Eliott Hospital, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, aged 79.
Reunited with Margaret in 1959.
Resting with them is Margaret's father, Viscount Templeton.
