OREM - Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Luella Steiner Rowley, 66, who died Wednesday night, will be held Monday, June 1, at 1 p.m. at the Orem Fourth-fifth LDS Ward chapel, directed by a son, Bishop Arden L. Rowley.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Orem City Cemetery.
She was born June 16, 1892 in Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of John E. and Martha Luella Porter Steiner. She attended schools in Mexico and the Juarez Academy and spent all her early life in Mexico where she was active in LDS Church activity. She was the youngest person to teach Sunday School in the colony. She has served in the Relief Society presidency and has been active in Primary and Genealogy. She and her husband have done a great deal to temple work.
She married David L. Rowley, August 11, 1909 in Mexico. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to Oakley, Ida., living there from 1914 to 1925 when they returned to Orem where they have made their home since.
Surviving are her husband; five sons and three daughters: David L. Rowley Jr., Leo Rowley, Arden Rowley, Delo Rowley, and Mrs. Melvin (Clara) Thurman, Mrs. Arvel (Lovena) Braegger, all of Orem, Mrs. Donald (Hermine) Harvey of Provo, and Shirl Rowley of Spanish Fork; four brothers and a sister, Brandon Steiner of Burley, Ida., Afton Steiner of American Fork, Darrell Steiner of Woodland Hills, Calif., Arless Steiner of Kaysville, and Mrs. William (Hermine) Shober of Murray; 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
