DECLO, IDAHO - Leone Fisher Jones, 85 year old Declo, Idaho resident died Sunday, August 10, 2003, at the home of her birth in Declo, Idaho.

She was born April 15, 1918, in Declo, Idaho, the daughter of Robert Franklin and Eola Harriet Lewis Fisher.

She attended Declo High School, where she was active as a Cheerleader, Senior Class President, and on the Speech Debate Team.She was involved in sewing in a 4-H Club and enjoyed giving oral readings. Leone attended Boise College in Boise and Klinks Business College in Twin Falls. She worked for a few years at Sears in Twin Falls and was later transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah.

She married Louis Logan Jones on October 10, 1942, in San Francisco, California. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 21, 1945, in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple.

Following their marriage they lived in Vallejo, California; Yorktown, Virginia; Okinawa, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; Yorktown, Virginia; Long Beach, California; Yokohama, Japan; and San Diego, California, while Louis served his country in the Navy.

On August 23, 1985, they moved to Declo, Idaho, where she has since resided. Leone was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; where she had served in many capacities including Primary teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President four times, a counselor in the Stake Primary, and as a Chorister in various auxiliaries. Leone and Louis had many opportunities to do missionary work while in the Navy. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, sewing, and decorating cakes.

Survivors include five children, Lola J. (Allen) Jubeck of Declo, Idaho, Lynn L. (Gay) Jones of Orem, Utah, Lorna J. (Keith) Rogers of Albion, Idaho, Logan R. (Adele) Jones of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Leon V. (Shannon) Jones of Kennewick, Washington; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Bill Jones and Ross (Lorraina) Jones, all of Burley, Idaho, and Myrth J. Kidd of Rexburg, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 20, 2001, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2003, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Declo Stake Center, 213 West Main Street in Declo, Idaho, with Bishop Steven Darrington, officiating.

Burial will be in the Declo Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Street in Burley, Idaho, on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Friday.
