RUTH I. BAKER
CONNEAUT -- Ruth I. Baker, age 89, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Monday, January 30, 2006, at Inn Conneaut Health Center, Conneaut.
Mrs. Baker was born December 21, 1916, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albert and Esther (Wilde) VonTreptow. She attended school in the Erie area and later worked in Girard at a factory. She also worked as a waitress at a local diner while being a housewife and raising her family.
Ruth was a member of the East Conneaut Baptist Chapel and enjoyed ceramics, yard work, and especially her roses and flowers. She enjoyed spending time with, and visiting her family, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack George Baker; a son, James Baker; two brothers, Leroy VonTreptow and Wilbert VonTreptow.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Sharoyn L. and Jack Vignal of Conneaut; two sons, Harry L. Baker of Conneaut and Jack G. and Jean Baker of Winfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and former sister-in-law, Carolyn and Ed Ignatovich of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2006, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, with Reverend Terry Kerr, of the East Conneaut Baptist Chapel, officiating. Burial will be held at the Girard Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Conneaut Baptist Chapel, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
