HICKORY----Mildred Virginia Adams Rink, 85, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at her daughter's residence surround by her family.
Mildred was born September 10, 1930 in Catawba Co. to the late Spencer Roosevelt and Nora Whitener Adams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Rink; her son, Dwight Rink and her brothers, Herbert Adams, Ned Adams, Willard Church, Troy Whitener and Ted Adams.
Mildred worked for Southern Glove and later for Shuford Tape where she retired at the age of 78. She loved her flowers, she could make anything grow with her green thumb.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Huffman and husband Cade; her sons, David Rink and wife, Tammy Falcone, Danny Rink and wife, Janet and Darryl Rink; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mathalda Hartness and husband, David, Betty Ballard and husband, Jerry and Elizabeth Ching.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 28, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Services will be at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church ELCA at 4:00pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
