Obituary of Mildred Irene Hopkins

Mildred Irene Hopkins, 85, of Athens, GA, passed on December 3, 2016.
Mrs. Hopkins was born May 19, 1931, in Athens, Georgia to the late George Franklin and Ollie McIntyre Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl Watson Hopkins, and her brother, Auburn Adams. She was a true Southern lady who always presented herself with grace and elegance. As a career homemaker, she enjoyed making every inch of her home picture-perfect and free of any dirt or dust. As a kind and loving person, she never met a stranger. She had a passion for Christ that never faded, studied her Bible daily and found strength in worshiping at her Church of 80 years, Edwards Chapel Baptist. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Survivors include brothers, Clinton (Joyce) Adams of Athens and Marvin Adams of Winterville; son, Steven Earl (Nancy) Hopkins of Marietta; daughter, Susan Diane Kubitz of Gainesville; son, Jeffery Len Hopkins of Atlanta/Athens; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
