On Wednesday, 23 March 2016, Earl Francis Farar, 75 years old, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's in San Luis Obispo, California.
He was born on Wednesday, 25 September 1940 in Yuma, Arizona and was the son of Henry W. Farar and Dora (Hix) Farar.
Earl graduated from Antelope Union High School near Wellton, Arizona in 1958.
On Monday, 02 August 1965, Earl started his career as a Correctional Peace Officer with the California Department of Corrections at the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo, California.
He transferred to the California Institution for Men as a Sergeant in 1975 and retired from the Sierra Conservation Center as the Camp Commander at Fenner Canyon Conservation Camp with 30 years of service.
Mr. Farar is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy (Masson) Farar, son. Earl P. Farar, daughter, Karen (Farar) Deaville, his siblings, Shirley (Farar) White, Mae (Farar) Herndon, Homer Farar, Dianne (Farar) Palmer and Mike Farar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry W. Farar and Dora (Hix) Farar, siblings Vernon Farar and Ada Farar, Kenneth Lynn, his twins, Mark Allen Farar and Terri Ann (Farar) Smith.
